Week Beginning 18th October

This week we have been looking at a story called "Pass it on" In the book, the children find ways of making other people happy. After the story, we talked about the things that make us happy and wrote them down for our display. It was great to hear such lovely things like dancing in the rain and having cuddles!

We also had fun carving a pumpkin and finished off the week with an Autumn picnic outside in our leaf hats. All of the children enjoyed drinking hot chocolate and eating biscuits. Have a super half term everyone, stay safe and we will see you all in November!

Week Beginning 11th October

This week we have been reading the story of Elmer the Elephant. The children helped to describe how Elmer was feeling in the story and we talked about the similarities and differences between ourselves. We created a collage of Elmer for our display and everybody helped to sort the different colours.

The children have spent a lot of time in our ice cream shop and had great fun sorting the socks into pairs on our washing line. Have a look at the pictures below to see some of the other things we have been doing.

Week Beginning 4th October

This week some of our children took part in an African drumming workshop. We also had a visit from a parent who read us a story in Portuguese.

The children have been busy accessing our areas of provision, we have seen lots of painting, building, stacking, sorting and some lovely role play too. We enjoyed our outdoor phonics lesson, we used paper plates and pretended to be cars, making sounds and responding to stop and go.

On Friday we began enhancing our loose parts lab into an ice cream stall, the children had some really good ideas about how to do this and I cant wait to visit next week!

Week Beginning 20th September

The children have been busy again this week. They have done lots of lovely artwork and have started to make some fantastic models. They particularly enjoyed singing along with the guitar and joined in with their own percussion instruments. To finish our week we made a huge rollercoaster outside with our new green crates.
