Good Morning, hope you are all well and have been enjoying the sunshine? Below is a document containing lots of different activities to try at home. Please do as many or little you find suitable for your child. Thank you

Good Morning! This week I would like to you spend time this week looking at books, can you handle the book carefully? Can you turn the pages by yourself? Can you talk about the pictures? Do you know who the characters are? What was your favourite part of the story? Can you retell the story to your grown up? I'd love to hear all about this on tapestry! I've also added a few tasks to do below for fun! : )

Good Morning, hope you all had a lovely weekend.

This week’s learning tasks:

 

  • Finding S: Have a look around your house for objects beginning with the sound sssss. When you have found your objects draw a picture of them.You could try this with different letters too.
  • Cutting: Use your scissors to practice cutting straight and curved lines. For a challenge you could try cutting out some shapes.
  • Phonics Play: Visit the website www.phonicsplay.com and play welcome to the zoo. Listen to the sound and match it to the picture.

Hello everyone! It feels like a long time since we saw you at school, we are all really missing you!

Here are some activities for you to be doing this week.

  • Feelings: What does it mean to be kind and helpful? How can you be kind and helpful at home and at school? Your challenge is to do 3 kind or helpful things for your grown ups this week. Maybe you could tidy your room or help make lunch?
  • Capacity: Can you practice filling up different size containers such as bottles and jugs. Try making them full, half full and empty. If its a nice day you could do this outside. 
  • Art: Draw a picture of your favourite toy. Why is it your favourite? Does it move? Does it make a noise? Try putting some labels on and ask your grown up to help you form your letters correctly.

Happy Easter everyone! Hope you got lots of yummy Easter eggs form the Easter bunny!

 

  • Easter Eggs: This week can you draw an egg shape (oval) and hold your pencil really carefully to draw some patterns on your egg. Maybe you could try zigzags, spots or wavy lines. Can you colour your egg in using your favourite colours?  I'd love to see your decorations and patterns so don't forget to upload onto tapestry.

 

  • Squares: Can you look around your house for things that are square shaped?

 

  • Name Writing: Keep practicing your name writing. Make sure you're using crocodile fingers and keep your hand on the table for support.

Good morning everyone!

Hope you're all staying safe at home.

Here are a few activities for you to be getting on with at home.

 

  • Draw a picture of your favourite mini beast. Ask your grown up to write the name, you could try copy some of the letters! Where does it live? what colour is it? How many legs does it have? Does it have wings? I would love to see your pictures, can you upload onto tapestry when you have finished?
  • Can you find.......
  • 1 toothbrush
  • 2 socks
  • 3 spoons
  • 4 tins
  • 5 cups, try timing this activity or changing the objects. Happy hunting!

This week we have been learning all about the story of the Gingerbread Man. The children acted out the story and make some super split pin gingerbread men that are displayed in our classroom.

RRRAAAAAHHHH!!!! We have had great week discovering all about dinosaurs. The children have really enjoyed looking through our selection of dinosaur books in our revamped book corner. We have been dinosaur dancing in PE and watching Andy and the dinosaurs to discover what the world was like in the time of the dinosaurs.

Welcome back. Hope you enjoyed the half term break. The children have been telling us all about their holiday. About getting dressed up for Halloween and all the sweets they have been eating! Some have been to bonfires. We have learned a new firework rhyme this week and the children have been enthusiastically joining in. They have created some wonderful firework pictures and Harlow showed his in Well Done assembly. Alex-James was our 'always' person of the week. We have also been reading 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson and the children have enjoyed acting out the story.

We have been continuing our Autumn theme this week and looking at hedgehogs and talking about how they will be getting ready to hibernate for the winter.The children have made some excellent play dough hedgehogs and we have had some fantastic work in their learning logs. Leo was in well done assembly for his super attitude this half term and he was also our 'always' person of the week.

This week we have been learning about Autumn and how the world is changing. We have been on an Autumn walk around the school grounds collecting leaves. We picked some apples from our apple trees which were delicious. We enjoyed watching KS1 Harvest Festival. We made some pictures of hedgehogs and foxes using our leaves.We used some conkers and dipped them in paint to make some fantastic paintings.

Our last week doing the Gingerbread man and the children have drawn some fantastic pictures retelling the story. We have been learning about more and less this week and building lego towers by putting one more brick on each time. We then found the towers that had more bricks and those that had less. We have been revisiting the letter S and remembering the animals that begin with that sound.

More Gingerbread man fun this week as the children have been using  puppets to retell the story. They have also done some super artwork for the class display. In PE we practising running as fast as we could like the Gingerbread man. We also found lots of other ways to move such as hopping, jumping and skipping. The children have been busy mark making this week with large paint brushes outside.

Next week it is parent evening and the BOOK BUS will be in school on Tuesday for you to buy books for your child.

"Run run as fast as you can.You can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread man". The children have been very enthusiastically joining in with the Gingerbread man story this week. They are getting to know the story really well. We investigated what would happen to ginger biscuits when we put them in water and found out that they went soft and crumbled. We then made our own Gingerbread men which tasted delicious.

Letter/sound of the week - Aa, happy,sad,angry,scared

The children have been learning about feelings this week. We have been role playing different situations that might make them happy, sad, angry or scared and what to do if we have these feelings. We have been reading a book called 'When I'm Feeling Kind' and learning to be kind to each other by sharing and taking turns. The children have also done some super circle art work based on our class artist, Kandinsky, for a display in the classroom. We then had a lot of fun getting messy on our colour fun day on Friday. Lincoln was in Well Done assembly for being a super helper this week and Leo R was our 'Always' person of the week.

A warm welcome to our new starters this week who have settled in really well. They have been exploring their new environment and they are starting to get better at tidying up! The older children in Nursery have been helping them by showing them how we 'Show 5' and sit nicely on the carpet. We have been learning all about circles and we found lots of things that were circle shaped in Nursery. Take a look at the photos. We have read the book 'The Selfish Crocodile' and talked about how the animals were feeling when the crocodile was unkind.
