Parachute Fun

This week we decided to take our PE lesson outside. The children were fantastic at following the instructions for our parachute games. We had lots of fun, bouncing the ball on top of the parachute and making a giant mushroom when it inflated.

Caring for Creatures.....

We have been lucky enough in Nursery to care for some Caterpillars and Tadpoles. The children have loved watching them develop and grow and we have had lots of lovely opportunities for discussion! We recently released the froglets into the local pond and the butterflies in our garden. The children were delighted to watch them fly away!

Welcome back to Nursery

We would like to say a huge well done to our new starters who have settled in brilliantly! Here's some of the lovely things we have been doing over the past two weeks.....

Outdoor learning in Nursery

We have spent a lot of time in our outdoor classroom this half term. The children have really enjoyed using the large construction blocks and had great fun exploring the ice in our tuff tray. It is so lovely to have all the children back and we look forward to more fun learning next half term. Have a lovely Easter!

Christmas in Nursery!

We have had lots of fun in nursery over the last few weeks. We have made reindeer food, a Santa sleigh and even wrapped some presents. The children loved dancing and playing games at our Christmas party and were delighted to see Santa! We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and we will see you in 2021!

Ready... Steady... READ!

We have been enjoying a range of books in Nursery. It is lovely to see the children handling books carefully and sharing stories with each other. Our reading den is the perfect place to get cosy and enjoy stories!

Here's some of the wonderful learning that's been taking place in our nursery. The children have really enjoyed a range of activities such as painting with shaving foam, exploring pumpkins, creating patterns, making bonfire pictures and building bridges outside with the large construction. We even had some furry visitors in our class! It was lovely to see how gentle and caring the children were with the guinea pigs.
This week we have been thinking about Handa and the story Handa's Surprise to celebrate Black History Month. We have talked about how we are different to each other but we also have lots of similarities too. We have made bracelets with beads just like they do in lots of African villages and we have talked about animals in the story and where they live. Then we drew around our hands and decorated them using lots of different colours.

We love building
