I initially trained as a teacher in Leeds before moving to live and work in Sweden for ten years. Returning to Leeds with my family in the 1980s I went on to develop a long and successful career in teaching and senior leadership, including as interim Headteacher and Principal in high schools in the west of Leeds. I have experience in all aspects of strategic school leadership including teaching and learning; pupil support; resources and school improvement. I understand the challenges of improving outcomes for all children and young people and want to use my experience to continue to support children and families in the west of Leeds. I have been a governor at Cobden since 2017 and for the past year have had the privilege of taking on the role of Chair of Governors. I am proud to be part of a strong governing body which Ofsted recognised as ‘having a shared desire to ensure the school achieves ambitious standards’. I am passionate about the role of education in improving the life chances of all our children and believe that governors and senior leaders have a key role to play in the future and well-being of the children at Cobden Primary School. | ||||
